Shirley Holtmeyer, nee Brinker, 73, Washington, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, in Washington.|
Shirley, the daughter of the late Roman Brinker and wife Isabel, nee Elbert, was born Aug. 14, 1939, in Washington. She was united in marriage to Richard Holtmeyer on April 20, 1963, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Washington.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Isabel Brinker; husband, Richard Holtmeyer; one daughter, Paula Haslag; one brother, Leroy Brinker; one sister, Esther Jansen; three sisters-in-law, Marcella Hackmann, Marion Meyer and Joan Kessler; and one brother-in-law, Jerome Holtmeyer.
She is survived by two sons, Martin Holtmeyer and wife Mary, nee Soete, Bozeman, Mont., and Michael Holtmeyer, Washington; one daughter, Christine Comely and husband, Tracy, Washington; one sister, Marion McDonald and husband James, Washington; seven sisters-in-law, Roberta Brinker, Corpus Christi, Texas, Georgia Schroeder and Bea Stowe and husband Carl, all of Union, Rosemary Hendrix, Cape Girardeau, Thecla McCarthy and husband Terry, Tucson, Ariz., Carol Babka, St. Louis, and Lucille Holtmeyer, Washington; two brothers-in-law, Larry Kessler, Mexico, Mo., and Harold Holtmeyer, Lombard, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Shirley was active in Meals on Wheels, Mercy Chapel and Encore.
Visitation was held at Miller Funeral Home Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m.
A memorial Mass was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Washington.
Memorial donations are appreciated to the St. Francis Borgia Grade School Smart Board Fund.
The Holtmeyer family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
