Steve S. DeClue Sr. Obituary
Steve Samuel DeClue Sr., 71, St. Clair, passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, at his home.

Steve, son of the late William DeClue and wife Mary, nee Landers, was born June 29, 1946, in Festus. On Feb. 29, 1964, he was united in marriage to Rose Ann Williams, in Waterloo, Ill.

Steve was an over-the-road truck driver for Ice Cream Specialty in St. Louis, giving 35 years of service. He also was a member of Teamsters Local 600. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding and being an all-around collector. He never missed a chance to attend his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. As a talented woodworker, he made toys and furniture, and was excellent at restoring antique wood items. He was a supporter of the NRA. Steve recently found God and was baptized in June 2017, and was a member of Roots Church in St. Clair.

Steve is survived by his wife, Rose Ann DeClue, St. Clair; four children, Lori Johnson and husband Curt, Washington, Debra Pikey, Steve DeClue Jr. and wife Michell, and William DeClue and wife Laura, all of St. Clair; five siblings, Darlene Mertz, St. Clair, Shirley Hogue, Sullivan, Elmer DeClue and wife Peggy, St. Clair, Gary DeClue, Lonedell, and Eddie DeClue and wife Donna, St. Clair; 13 grandchildren, Wes Johnson, Evan Johnson, Trey Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Natasha Pikey, Stevani Pikey, Justine Tanner, David "Buzz"^ Tanner and wife Brittany, Samantha Saling and husband Sam, Lauren Wise, Airmen Coty DeClue, Addy DeClue and Kalli DeClue; five great-grandchildren; two blessings to arrive in the spring; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary DeClue, and eight siblings, Bill DeClue, Bobby DeClue, Raymond DeClue, Johnnie DeClue, Daniel DeClue, Frances DeClue, Norma DeClue and Kathy Barton.

Visitation was held from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, with services at 6 p.m. at Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.
