Wilma B. Berlener, nee Kiewitt, 94, Washington, passed away Tuesday, Dec 3, 2013, in Washington. |
Mrs. Berlener, daughter of the late William Kiewitt and wife Anna, nee Bente, was born May 31, 1919, in Union. She was united in marriage to James Berlener Nov. 4, 1939, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Washington. She belonged to the Elks Auxilary.
Mrs. Berlener was preceded in death by her husband, James Berlener; parents, William and Anna Kiewitt; two sisters, Bernice Compton and Viola Beck; and one son-in-law, Vernon "Buckshot" Walde.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Berlener and wife Anne, and Tom Berlener and wife Janet, all of Washington; one daughter, Carol Walde, Washington; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
A funeral service followed the visitation, beginning at 6 p.m., at the funeral home.
Burial was private.
Memorial donations may be given to the Elks Foundation.
The Berlener family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
