1925 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Adolph Hugo Manhart, 89, Union, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, in St. Clair.

Adolph, son of the late Joseph A. Manhart and wife Christina, nee Haberberger, was born Feb. 8, 1925, in Leslie. Adolph received his education at St. Joseph School, Neier. He was united in marriage to Alvina Reuber Nov. 15, 1952, at St. John's-Gildehaus Church. They made their home in Union. Adolph was a truck driver and drove trucks for A.S. Winistoerfer, 7-UP, Permaneer and Edison Brothers. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Union, and the Knights of Columbus.

Adolph was preceded in death by his wife, Alvina Manhart, May 26, 2000; parents, Joseph A. and Christina Manhart; two sisters, Barbara Lenze and Mildred Jones; and two brothers, Albert Manhart and Paul Manhart.

He is survived by two sisters, Marie Winistoerfer and Berniece Reagan, both of Villa Ridge; one brother, Charles Manhart and wife Marjorie, Union; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

A funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at Immaculate Conception Church, Union, with Monsignor Matthew Mitas officiating.

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception School.

The Manhart family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.
