George "Yatts" J. Toben, 82, Washington, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, in Washington.

George, son of the late Henry Toben and wife Adelaide, nee Sieve, was born June 27, 1931, in Washington. He was united in marriage to Elda Mae Gildehaus May 3, 1958, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks and American Legion.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Adelaide Toben; three brothers, Victor Toben, Walter Toben and Herman Toben; and five sisters, Ruth LaBoube, Clare Frankenberg, Marcella Breckenkamp, Eleanor Elbert, and Helen Esslinger.
He is survived by his wife, Elda Mae Toben, Washington; four daughters, Jodie Miller and husband Craig, Karen Piontek and husband Dan, Jane Kell and husband Dave, all of Washington, and Luann Optican and husband Rob, Germantown, Tenn.; two sisters, Dorothy Toben, Washington, and Adelaide Holtmeyer, Bellevue, Neb.; one brother-in-law, Randy LaBoube, Washington; one sister-in-law, Martha Toben, Kansas City, Mo.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Washington.
A funeral Mass followed, beginning at 11 a.m. at the church.
Interment was private.
Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
The Toben family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
