Alice Doreen Becker, nee Schuenemeyer, 87, Union, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in Washington.|
Alice, daughter of the late George Schuenemeyer and wife Mabel, nee Branson, was born July 3, 1926, in Redbird. She received her education in the Union area. She was united in marriage to Donald Giedinghagen. After his death, she married Owen Edward Becker June 19, 1948, in Arkansas.
Alice is survived by nine children, Kay Leicht and husband Fred, College Station, Texas, Donald Giedinghagen, Beth Ann Brandhorst and husband Charlie, Mary Alice Withington and husband Mike, Sally Becker, Denise Franke, all of Union, Opal Surcey and husband Gene, New Haven, Donna Bandy and husband David, Sullivan, and Karen Hanna and husband John, Beaufort; two brothers, Norman Schunemeyer and wife Henrietta, Union, and Marvin Schuenemeyer and wife Darlene, Owasso, Okla.; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by two husbands, Donald Giedinghagen and Owen Edward Becker, April 13, 1990; one son-in-law, Robert "Skip" Franke; four brothers, Irwin Schuenemeyer, Raymond Schuenemeyer, Clifton Schuenemeyer and George Schuenemeyer; and one sister, La Verna Ingram.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, at First Christian Church, Union, with Pastor Mike Reiner officiating.
Interment followed in Midlawn Cemetery, Union.
