Mary F. Bethel, 71, Warrenton, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, at her home.|
Mary was born March 3, 1943, in St. Louis, the daughter of Raymond E. Brewer and wife Hattie Mae. She was employed as a clerk for the Camden County Collector's office for many years before retiring in 2005. Mary was a member of Eastern Star Home Chapter 313 and College United Methodist Church, Warrenton. She loved playing bingo and shopping as well as being around family and friends.
Mary is survived by two sons, Richard Dale Mathis and wife Pam, Rector, Ark., and Robert Wayne Mathis and Joyce Brown, Paragould, Ark.; one daughter, Renee Louise Tryon and husband Chris, Warrenton; one brother, Harold Brewer, Lake of Ozarks; three sisters, Laura M. Souders and husband Mel, De Soto, Hallene J. O'Donnell, St. Louis, and Deborah L. Broeckling and husband Geno, Hopewell; seven grandchildren, Heather, Eileen and husband Joshua, Jason and fiancee Amanda, Holly, Jeremy, Cade and Sylvia; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bethel; and parents, Raymond E. and Hattie Mae Brewer.
Visitation was held Wednesday, April 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 3, at 11 a.m. at College United Methodist Church, Warrenton.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Charles.
