Rheta Faye Hellemeyer, 68, Warrenton, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, at St. Joseph Health Center, St. Charles.|
She was born Dec. 19, 1945, in Pocahontas, Ark., the daughter of Chestley Washington Matthews and wife Glenda Marie. Rheta was a devoted homemaker and assembly line worker. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, loved flowers, fishing and bowling. She also loved to travel; Rheta visited all 50 states and was a world traveler. She was a woodcrafter, antique collector and gardener. Rheta loved collecting jewelry.
Rheta is survived by her husband, Jerald "Jerry" Hellemeyer, Warrenton; 10 children, Jimmy Dewayne (Yuyang) Snyder, Danny Ray (Sandy) Snyder, Warrenton, Donna (Fabian Zamora) Duckett, Wright City, Christene Manning, Jonesboro, Ark., Randy (Diana) Snyder, Warrenton, Susan (Kevin) Brooks, Howe, Texas, Lori (Neil) Lafferty, Fayette, Michael Hellemeyer, Roberstville, Tracy Owens and Jayce (significant other Tom) Hellemeyer; 11 siblings, Betty Sue (Ron) Lynn, Judy Brandon, Lena (Ronnie) Wells, David (Carla) Matthews, Rosalie Matthews, Bobby Matthews, all of Pocahontas, Ark., Patsy (Delynn) Richardson, Castle Hayne, N.C., Peggy Kemry, Warrenton, Carol (Danny) Rawls, Paragould, Ark., Sharon (Tate) Townsend, Maynard, Ark., and Anita Huddleston, O'Fallon; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chestley and Glenda Matthews; one brother, Gene Matthews; and three sisters, Freda Matthews, Shirley Malton and Mary Lindsey.
Visitation was held Monday, March 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
A funeral service followed at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment was in Brockett Cemetery, Pocahontas, Ark.
Memorials to the donor's choice, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred.
The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
