Gary Wayne Handlang, 62, Warrenton, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in Fairbanks, Alaska. |
He was born Aug. 17, 1951, to Lorenz Handlang and wife Lillian, nee Weffenstette, in Washington.
Gary was a self-employed welder. He loved to fly his plane and go scuba diving. Gary enjoyed all animals and being outdoors, and was a member of the N.R.A. and A.O.P.A. He loved being with his children and roughhousing with his grandchildren.
Gary is survived by one son, Matthew Handlang and wife Kim; one daughter, Michele Hachman and husband Wade; three grandchildren, Grant Handlang, Claire Hachman and Adam Hachman; one brother, Melvin Handlang; Matthew's and Michele's mother, Sandy Lucks; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenz and Lillian Handlang.
A memorial visitation was held Saturday, March 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.
A memorial service followed at 1 p.m.
Burial was in Lippstadt Cemetery, Warrenton.
