Lorraine Katherine Voss, nee Meyer, 76, Washington, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014, in Washington. |
Lorraine, daughter of the late August Meyer and wife Caroline, nee Spaunhorst, was born March 28, 1938, in Washington. She received her education at St. Francis Borgia Grade School and St. Francis Borgia High School. Lorraine was united in marriage to Mr. Virgil Voss April 4, 1959, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Washington. They made their home in Washington, and eight children were born to this marriage. Lorraine was a member of St. Francis Borgia Church, the Ladies Sodality, Borgia crafters, and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She also was an Encore volunteer.
Lorraine is survived by three daughters, Donna Mahnesmith, Washington, Julie Waelterman and husband Todd, St. Louis, and Mary Hagedorn and husband Donald, Villa Ridge; five sons, Perry Voss, St. Louis, Garry Voss, Michael Voss, Roger Voss and wife Kim, and Tim Voss and wife Sarah, all of Washington; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Holtmeyer and husband Gilbert, Washington, and Elsie Kopmann and husband Ralph, New Haven; two brothers, Richard Meyer, and Dale Meyer and wife Linda, all of Washington; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Meyer, and Barb Holtmeyer and husband Denny, all of Washington; one brother-in-law, Andy Voss and wife Linda, Washington; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Voss, March 18, 2006; parents, August and Caroline Meyer; one brother, Anthony Meyer; one son-in-law, Rodney Mahnesmith; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy "Tudy" Meyer.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Washington, with the Rev. Brian Hecktor officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. Francis Borgia Grade School or St. Francis Borgia Regional High School.
