Vera Maxine Jarvis Richter, known as Maxine, nee Loyd, 92, Union, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in Union. |
Maxine, daughter of the late Raymond Radford Loyd and wife Elva Augusta, nee Simpson, was born Jan. 3, 1922, in St. Louis. Maxine received her education in Union, and graduated from Union High School in 1940. She was united in marriage to Mr. James L. Jarvis Feb. 15, 1941, and four children were born to this marriage. Maxine worked as a clerk at Karraker Drug Store, Union, for many years, and later worked at Rinderer Drug and Washington Walmart. She was a charter member of First Christian Church, Union.
Maxine is survived by three daughters, Judith Oberschelp, Linn Creek, Sharon Shockley, Union, and Nancy Plunkett and husband Larry, Chesterfield; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Bill Nicholson, Alexandria, Va.; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Dennis Jarvis; parents, Raymond and Elva Loyd; two sons-in-law, Darrell Shockley and Art Oberschelp; one grandson, Eric Hidritch; and one sister, Wanda Nicholson.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, with the Rev. Roger Johnson officiating.
Burial was in Union Cemetery, Union.
Memorials may be given to the Franklin County Humane Society or a charity of donor's choice.
