Barbara Ann Masker, nee Bennett, 79, Wentzville, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. |
She was born in Sussex, N.J., to Edward Bennett and wife Mildred, nee Morris, Oct. 12, 1934. Barbara was united in marriage to Paul Emerson Masker May 15, 1955, in Sussex, N.J.
In her early years, Barbara was a registered nurse at the Newark Baby Hospital, Newark, N.J. She loved quilting and was a member of Stitch in Time Quilting Club. Barbara also was a member of the Mary Martha Christian Circle, St. John's Women's Fellowship and Liberty Grove Extension Club. She loved to cook, bake and work in her garden. Barbara also loved to collect dolls, especially Cabbage Patch dolls; she was a member of the Cabbage Patch Doll Club. Barbara loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Dale Masker and Wayne Masker; three granddaughters, Jesica Fee, Rebecca Masker and Caroline Masker; one grandson, Jonathan Masker; two great-grandchildren, Cecil Nathanial and Autumn Glorine; one brother-in-law, George Van Etten; many other relatives and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Masker; parents, Edward and Mildred Bennett; and one sister, Marie Van Etten.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ- Cappeln, New Melle.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
