Wilma Jane Anderson was a cherished child and sibling. Born to August and Margaret Jaeger in August 1929 in an area once called Bethlehem, she was the youngest of 13 siblings: brothers, Alfred, Gilmore, Milton, Edmond, Ruben, August Jr.; and sisters, Emma, Hulda, Ester, Leona, Dorothy and Verna.|
She attended Bethlehem Country School and became a homemaker. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She married Keith Anderson in June 1953 and had three children, Winifred, Daniel and Michael. Her grandchildren are Evan (Ashley) Laber and Christien Laber, sons of Winifred and Philip Laber. They survive her as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
She died Monday, April 21, 2014, at Delmar Gardens, O'Fallon.
During her life, she enjoyed growing up as a farm girl. She told wonderful stories of threashing, butchering, soap-making and apple butter time, all German neighborhood activities.
She loved to quilt with her friends at the St. John's United Church of Christ, Pickney. She raised a family and always had a garden. She took special joy in her roses, one an heirloom pink grown from a start from her mother's garden. She enjoyed hunting and fishing, first with her brothers and later with her husband and sons. She shared a love of Cardinals baseball with her grandson Evan. She loved time spent with her family at their "woods" and found pleasure in exploring nature with all her children.
We will miss her sweet, loving spirit and her merry smile.
