Lloyd F. Kossina, 87, Washington, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, at home. |
Lloyd, son of the late John O. Kossina and wife Margaret, nee Schneider, was born April 11, 1927, in Waterloo, Ill. He was united in marriage to the late Marilyn Voss June 12, 1954, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. After Marilyn's passing, he was united in marriage to Darlene Barrett, nee Heisel, Nov. 18, 1989, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene, nee Heisel, Washington; four children, Paul and wife Nancy, Orlando, Fla., Lynn and husband Timothy Gabbert, Clinton, Laurie and husband Kent Gilbert, Bellflower, and Jerry and wife Paula, Wildwood; two stepchildren, Hal and Betty Barrett and Laurie and Charlie Hellmann, all of Washington; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; his parents; one brother, Raymond Kossina; and one sister, Arleen Hoeing.
Visitation was at Miller Funeral Home Tuesday, June 17, from 4 to 8 p.m.
A funeral Mass was held Wednesday, June 18, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Washington.
Interment was at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Warrenton.
Memorial donations may be given to Our Lady of Lourdes St. Vincent de Paul Society or Masses.
The Kossina family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
