Carol Joan Adkins, 72, Warrenton, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Peters.|
She was born Sept. 7, 1941, in Potosi, daughter of Lester Lee Charboneau and Dorothy Juanita Coleman, nee Richards.
Carol was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was employed as a seamstress. Carol enjoyed darts, bingo, camping and canoeing with her longtime companion Jerry Wilson. She also enjoyed taking trips, especially to Memphis, Tenn., with her sister, Ruth, as well as Florida and other various states.
Carol is survived by her four daughters, Jacqueline Susanne (David) Fritz, Debra Kay (Oliver) McGuire, Bonnie Jean (Arthur) DeBord and Marsha Mae (Tammy) Kreutztrager; stepson, Kent (Connie) Adkins; two stepdaughters, Connie (Jerry) Pierce and Joyce (Bill) Sorenson; one sister, Ruth Ann Gormley; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her eternally.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert G. Adkins; father, Lester Lee Charboneau; mother, Dorothy Juanita Coleman; one sister, Bonnie Louise Morley; and one grandson, Bryan Andrew Polston.
Visitation was held Thursday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 904 S. Highway 47, Warrenton.
A funeral service followed at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment was in Warrenton City Cemetery, Warrenton.
