Gilbert W. Crider Sr., 68, Cuba, Mo., passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at his home. |
Gilbert, son of the late Paul Crider and wife Norene, nee Latham, was born July 15, 1946, in East St. Louis, Ill. He and his wife of 46 years, Linda M. Benson were united in marriage April 5, 1968. Gilbert loved to hunt, fish, camp and spend time with family and friends.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Linda Crider, Cuba, Mo.; three sons, Gilbert W. Crider Jr. and wife Marsha, St. Clair, Kenneth R. Crider and wife Susan, Union, and Kevin B. Crider and wife Nicole, Cuba, Mo.; two daughters, Lori A. Cooksey and Amy M. Hogue, both of St. Clair; two sisters, Ann Morris, Caseyville, Ill., and Dorothy LaPoint, Fairview Heights, Ill. Gilbert was loved by all, including 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Norene Crider; one brother, Virgil Covington; one sister, Linda Shockley; one daughter, Cynthia Crowthers; one grandchild, Samantha Cooksey; and two great-grandchildren, Allison Cooksey and Logan Berger.
Burial was private.
The Crider family was served by Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.
