Viola Bader Obituary
Viola Bader, nee Meyer, 89, Villages, Fla., formerly of Union, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, in The Villages, Fla.

Viola, daughter of the late Julius G. Meyer and wife Della, nee Graham, was born Sept. 11, 1924, in Leslie. She taught for the Gerald School District for five years. Viola was united in marriage to Donald Bader Oct. 4, 1947, in Union. The couple made their home in Union. She was the secretary for Ninos de Mexico, Union, for 18 years, from 1980 to 1998. Viola was an active minister's wife at Antioch Christian Church, Leslie. She taught Sunday school and played piano for the services. The couple moved to Florida in 2012.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Donald Bader, Villages, Fla.; one daughter, Sharon Lee and husband Jerry, Villages, Fla.; two sons, Paul Bader, Johnson City, Tenn., and Keith Bader and wife Gail, Pittsburgh, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Ryan Bader and wife Beth, Taran Lee, Kevin Bader, Ross Bader, Bryan Lee and wife Christy, Stephanie Steltzer and husband Joe, and David Bader; eight great-grandchildren, Anna, Luke, Caroline, Olive, Noah, Danny, Mark and Adalyn; one sister, Delma Vaughn, Cuba, Mo.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Della Meyer; and two sisters, Lucille Steagall and Wanda Beeman.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday Aug. 9, at Antioch Christian Church, Leslie, with the Rev. David Aitzenweiler officiating.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Antioch Church Building Fund.

The Bader family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.
