Mike, son of Dewey Barlish and wife Barbara, nee Maciejewski, was born Oct. 12, 1967, in St. Charles. He graduated from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School, Washington, in 1986. Mike was united in marriage to Kimberly Scheib April 29, 1989, and two children were born to this marriage. He served his country in the U.S. Marines during Desert Storm, from May 11, 1989, to May 10, 1993. He worked as a plasterer for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and NASCAR.
Mike is survived by two children, Amanda and Andrew Barlish, both of Washington; parents, Dewey and Barbara Barlish, Washington; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jennifer Barlish.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Krakow, with the Rev. Phil Krill officiating.
Burial, with full military honors, was at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
Memorials may be given to the Barlish Children Education Fund.
The family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.
