Richard Redwood, 68, St. Clair, formerly of Union, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, in St. Clair.|
Mr. Redwood was born April 8, 1944, in Aldridge, England, the son of the late Douglas Redwood and wife Edna, nee Hughes.
He received his education in England and earned a degree in leather craft design from Walsall of Art School.
Mr. Redwood was united in marriage to Barbara Pierce Sept. 22, 1972, in California state.
He moved to the United States from England in 1966 and moved to Union in 1976. Mr. Redwood was employed at Hazel where he retired after 16 years.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Union.
Mr. Redwood is survived by one son, Michael Herkenhoff and wife Betty, Union; two daughters, Barbara Emory, Union, and Lisa Dempsey and husband Sean, Arnold; nine grandchildren, Julie, Kate, Michael, Jake, Lauren, Tyler, Sarah, Jack and Aedin; one great-granddaughter, Alexis; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Redwood, July 29, 2007; parents, Douglas and Edna Redwood; and one sister, Sydney Ray.
A funeral service was held Thursday, Sept. 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Union, with Pastor Robert Kriete officiating.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Union, are preferred.
