Thomas F. "Tom" Wildt, 47, St. Louis, passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at his residence.|
Mr. Wildt was born Dec. 12, 1964, in Washington, the son of James Wildt and wife Margaret, nee Smith.
He enjoyed growing up in a large family with 37 first cousins. Mr. Wildt loved the outdoors, boating, fishing and hunting. Many remember him as having a big smile and being easy to talk to.
He was a skilled iron worker, welder and craftsman.
Mr. Wildt was a 1983 graduate of Washington High School and Vocational Technical School. He was a former member of the Iron Workers Union Local 396.
Throughout his life, he was employed at various businesses locally and throughout mid-Missouri. The last job Mr. Wildt held was in south St. Louis as an apartment maintenance man and assistant manager.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emil and Carrie Wildt and Marion and Alice Smith.
Mr. Wildt is survived by his parents; three children, Alisha Harris and husband Cody and Cheyanne Berger-Wildt, all of Washington, and Nick Wildt, Union; two grandchildren, Aubrey Krafft and Carter Harris; three sisters, Dee Helsee and husband Bryan and Sharon Fullerton and husband Sean, all of Tulsa, Okla., and Wendy Wildt, St. Louis; nieces and nephews, Noah, Hannah and Martha Helsee, Natalie and Sean Thomas and Nicole Fullerton; other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Hummingbird Club, Washington, with the Rev. Cindy Thornton delivering the message.
Memorial donations for the education of Mr. Wildt's children are preferred.
The family was served by Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington.
