Donald E. Jett Obituary
Donald Edward Jett Sr., 69, Villa Ridge, passed away suddenly at home Friday, Nov. 9, 2012.

Mr. Jett was born April 23, 1943, the son of the late Ervin Jett and wife Wanda, nee Bruns.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol Jett, nee Williams; two sons, Timothy Sappington and wife Teresa, and Loran Gurnow, Villa Ridge; three daughters, LeAnn Berger and husband Mike, Lela Tulley and Toni Wyatt and husband James, all of Washington; four brothers, Robert Jett and wife Jan, Pacific, William Jett, Austin, Texas, Leslie Jett and wife Marie, Union, and Michael Jett; four sisters, Barbara Rowley and husband Larry, Joyce Jett, all of Union, Margaret Jett, Washington, and Pamela Janssen and husband Keith, Beaufort; four sisters-in-law, Joyce Carson, Covington, Ga., Jo Stephenson, St. Clair, Jerri Smith, Buffalo, and Tina Jett, Pacific; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Jett was preceded in death by his son, Donald Edward Jett Jr. "D.J."; parents, Ervin and Wanda Jett; four brothers, Kenneth, Daniel, James and John Jett; and father- and mother-in-law, Tony and Lillian, nee DeClue, Williams.

He was a graduate of Pacific High School and a member of Iron Workers Local 396 for 46 years. A few of the memorable projects Mr. Jett worked on included The Arch, Six Flags and the Callaway Nuclear Plant.

He loved being with family and friends and is best remembered for his jovial demeanor and telling his silly jokes and old stories.

Mr. Jett and his wife, Carol, loved antiques and operated a shop for many years together. He loved buying and selling antiques and going to auctions and flea markets.

Mr. Jett will be remembered for his love and dedication to his wife and children, big heart and putting the needs of others before his own. He gave much more than he ever expected to receive.

Mr. Jett was an organ donor and his remains have been cremated. A memorial service is pending.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Autumn Hill State School, Union, in the name of his late son, Donald Edward Jett Jr., are preferred.
