Edwin Earl Short, known to most as "Ed," 75, St. Clair, formerly of Milwaukee, Wis., departed this life in Washington Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012. |
Edwin was born in St. Louis Sept. 24, 1937, the son of Earl Walter Short and Dolores Ellen, nee Lewis. As a young man he was blessed to have adopted one son.
He is survived by his son, Tom Short, St. Clair; one brother, Fredrick Short, St. Clair; six nephews, Randy Short and wife Jamie, Kirk Short, Chris Short and wife Tracie and Jeff Short, all of St. Clair, Doug Short, Sullivan, and David Short and wife Becky, Washington; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Dolores Short; and one brother, Perry Short.
He was a Christian of the Baptist faith and believed in the Lord as his Savior.
Ed was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army, entering Nov. 14, 1956, and receiving his honorable discharge on Dec. 15, 1959.
During his working career, Ed worked as a drywall hanger on various commercial projects through the carpenters union hall. Ed had a variety of hobbies and interests throughout his life, including raising cattle. His passion was being out on the course playing golf. Most important was his relationship with his family. His brother and nephews meant the world to him and the many wonderful memories they had created will forever be cherished by them all.
A private committal will take place at a later date.
