Thelma Marie Dinger, 91, Topeka, Kan., formerly of Union and Galena, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Topeka, Kan.|
Thelma was born Sept. 2, 1921, in Wells Creek, Kan., the daughter of the late Herman E. Hasenbank and wife Anna M., nee Pageler.
On Aug. 31, 1942, she was united in marriage to Mr. Dale H. Dinger. They lived many years in Topeka, Kan., Union and Galena. Thelma was a homemaker. She was a member of Elmont United Methodist Church, Topeka, Kan., and a life member of Holton Memorial V.F.W. Post 1367, Holton, Kan.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Dinger; parents, Herman and Anna Hasenbank; one son, Richard Dinger; two grandchildren, Crystal Dinger and Nathan Haberberger, in infancy; one great-grandson, Michael Eaton; and one sister, Ella Fink.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Dinger, Galena, and Darrell Dinger, Jonesburg; six daughters, Helen Abbott and husband George, Leslie, Linda Ewing, Galena, Alice Haberberger and husband Jerome, Villa Ridge, April Gordon and husband David, Topeka, Kan., Janice Schweigen and husband Hardie "Junior," of Hoyt, Kan., and Julia Martin and husband Charlie, Mayetta, Kan.; 77 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Dinger, Galena, and Lorene Strimple, Eudora, Kan.; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held Thursday, April 4, at noon at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.
Burial was in Midlawn Cemetery, Union.
Memorials to Holton Memorial V.F.W. Post 1367, Holton, Kan., are preferred.
