Frank Harry Harles, 92, Leslie, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013, in Leslie.|
Frank, son of the late Frank I. Harles and wife Olga, nee Rall, was born Sept. 19, 1920, in St. Louis. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 22, 1941, to Oct. 18, 1945. He was united in marriage to Rose Marie Siedhoff July 12, 1947, at St. George Catholic Church, Affton. They made their home in St. Louis and moved to Leslie in 1983. Frank was employed as a machinist at American Can Co., St. Louis, until his retirement in 1983.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie on Jan. 6, 2012; parents, Frank I. and Olga Harles; and one great-grandson, Erik.
He is survived by two sons, Frank C. Harles and wife Kathie, and Dennis Harles and wife Barbara, all of Leslie; six grandchildren, Frank Harles, Bret Harles, Angie Wilde, Cindy Kays, Robert Harles and Karen Scholz; eight great-grandchildren, Amber, Noah, Kari, Ryan, Logan, Abby, Olivia and Sean; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, with the Rev. James Foster officiating.
Burial followed in Resurrection Cemetery, St. Louis.
