Norma Ruth Kerr, nee Cole, 85, Union, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013. |
Norma, daughter of the late Roy Lee Cole and wife Ethel, nee Jones, was born Jan. 28, 1928, in Elvins. She graduated from Farmington High School and attended college in Kentucky. Norma was united in marriage to Gerald Kerr Feb. 17, 1951, in Farmington. The couple moved to Union in 1974. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Union.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lee and Ethel Cole; three brothers; one daughter-in-law, Pam Kerr; and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Kerr, Union; two sons, Gerald Kerr Jr., Frontenac, and Robert Kerr and wife Betsy, Hampton, Va.; one daughter, Debra Winkler and husband David, St. Clair; nine grandchildren, David Winkler and wife Tina, Danielle Young, Dena Johnson and husband Mike, Gerald Kerr III and wife Ann, Grant Kerr, Christopher Kerr and wife Courtney, Benjamin Kerr, Timothy Kerr and Stephanie Kerr; four great-grandchildren, Bryce Young, Chase Young, Mackensie Winkler and Logan Winkler; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held at 7 p.m. Monday, May 6, at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, with the Rev. Larry Sikes officiating.
Burial was in Berrong Cemetery, Gipsy.
