Sandra Kay Wagner, nee Miller, known to most as "Sandy," 59, Lonedell, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at her home.|
Sandy, daughter of the late Harvey Joe Miller and wife Lorraine Rose, nee Conners, was born Oct. 28, 1953, in St. Louis. She was united in marriage to James Martin Wagner Dec. 13, 1975, and they were blessed with three children.
Sandy was a Christian of the Baptist faith. During her working years, she was employed by DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Fenton, retiring after 31 years of employment. She also was a member, past officer and retiree of the United Auto Workers Locals 110 and 136, both of St. Louis.
Sandy's passion was the American Indian and she loved visiting reservations. She enjoyed beading and made beautiful jewelry. She was an outgoing, vivacious person with a love for life. Snow skiing, snorkeling and raising beautiful flowers were her other hobbies. She enjoyed watching wildlife, nature and collecting butterflies. Nothing made her happier than the time she spent with her family and grandchildren. The love they shared and the wonderful memories created will be treasured by all of them.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, halfsister, niece, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, Sandy will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Joe and Lorraine Rose Miller.
She is survived by her husband, James Martin Wagner, Lonedell; two sons, James C. Wagner, High Ridge, and Steven Wagner and wife April, Gilbertsville, Ky.; one daughter, Theresa Schaefer, House Springs; one brother, Michael Miller and wife Chris, St. Louis; one adopted brother, Jim Hallum, Nebraska state; one halfsister, Joan Chism and husband Gary, Branson; nine grandchildren; one uncle; brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. Pat Singleton officiating.
Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, Lonedell.
Memorials may be given to the American Liver Foundation or the American Indian Heritage Foundation.
