Jean Creech Obituary

Jean Marie Creech, 87, of Punta Gorda went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 after a long illness.

She was the eldest daughter of Harold and Theresa Mackinder, born Aug. 18, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. Jean graduated from Denby High School and received her Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit. She worked for Lutheran Family Services for over 27 years counseling teens and couples; she helped in many adoptions as well as foster care placement. Jean was very active in many churches over her lifetime and was always willing to lend a spiritual helping hand. She enjoyed traveling, bonsai, flowers, and serving God and others.

Jean will be greatly missed by her sisters, Joan Foye of New Hampshire and Janet Rae Reed of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and greats.

A memorial service to celebrate Jean's life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Tidewell Hospice of Port Charlotte. To express condolences to the family, please visit www.LTaylorFuneral.com and sign the online guest book.

Arrangements are by Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
