Eileen Marguerite (Cosgrove) Zeleny Obituary
Born December 16, 1916, Eileen Marguerite Cosgrove Zeleny, was raised in Montreal, Canada. She passed away August 8, 2014 at the Air Force Village in San Antonio, Texas where she had resided since 1976.

Eileen graduated High School and cared for her mother until 1942 when her mother passed away. She then worked at the Royal Bank of Canada, the Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada and then as a French translator for United Nations in New York City. On December 18th, 1948 she married Leslie Day Zeleny, a Professor at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and a reserve Air Force Captain who served in WWI and WWII. In 1958 Eileen graduated college with a degree in Education and taught elementary school in Greeley, Colorado. In the mid 60's, after Leslie retired, they moved to Cairo, Egypt where Leslie taught at the University and Eileen taught English at the American School. Upon their return from Egypt, they built a house in Estes Park, Colorado where Eileen taught school until they moved to the Air Force Village in San Antonio, Texas in 1976.

She enjoyed sewing, reading, golf and music and was active in many functions at the Air Force Village.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Leslie who passed away in 1992 and is survived by 2 step sons, Richard Day Zeleny who resides in Pueblo, Colorado with his wife Naomi and James Anthony Zeleny who resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife Carol. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Services will be held at Air Force Village in Texas and also in Estes Park, Colorado at times and dates to be determined.
