Ervin Klovdahl Obituary
Ervin Eugene Klovdahl a.k.a. Gene Klovdahl passed away February 2, 2017 at age 85. Gene was born in Denver, Colorado, son of Laurin and Caroline Klovdahl. He attended high school at South High, Denver, CO. Following that he was in the Air Force stationed in Clovis, New Mexico. He married Margaret (Peggy) Laurel Schurch in 1957 and they spent 53 years together. Gene was self employed with his father Laurin. Together they owned a Firestone store in Fort Lupton, CO. After his father's retirement, he turned it into Klovdahl's Furniture and Appliance store. He together with family and friends (Harold, Erna and Nils Klovdahl and Joe Martinez) had a successful business for many years. Gene and Peggy retired to Estes Park in the early 90's and were active at the Senior Center and Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church. They were also residents of Good Samaritan Retirement where Gene spent many hours in the wood shop building toys for children in need and craft projects for other groups to paint and decorate that were used as fundraisers. Gene is survived by his daughter Karen Laureen Klovdahl, Son-in-Law Richard Popp and grand-daughter Kylee Popp. Funeral Services will be held at Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church, Estes Park, CO, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
