His dynamic and warm personality attracted everyone around him. He lived his life displaying warm, enthusiastic, genuine love toward people. His witty jokes, giant hugs, and cheerfully bold voice always lit up the room. He lived life with the palms of his hand wide open always giving and assisting others. The six churches they served together provided the framework for their lives through their 62 years of marriage. Trinity Lutheran Church in South Milwaukee, WI. Edison Park Lutheran in Chicago, Il, Christ the King Lutheran in Denver, CO, St. Paul's Lutheran in Omaha, NE, American Protestant Church in Antwerp, Belgium. Bethlehem Lutheran in Brush, CO. And he dedicated himself to each of his newfound church homes.
They happily retired to Estes Park in 1992. While there, John enjoyed golf, skiing, and barber-shop singing. Together he & Dorothy camped & traveled the world. He especially loved any activity involving family & church activities and held a special fondness for John Wayne movies.
