Reverend Mel Sudderth died October 21, 2014 in Fort Collins, CO. He was 88 years old. Charles Melvin Sudderth was born April 10, 1926 in Farwell, TX. His parents were Lee and Blanche (Lee) Sudderth.
Mel graduated from McMurray College in Abilene, TX and the Iliff School of Theology in Denver. He married Gladys Hudson on June 3, 1944 in Farwell. He was Pastor of Churches in Denver and Keensburg, CO and San Francisco. He also served as student pastor of a two point charge in Potosi and Dudley TX. Mel was a member of the Rotary club in Abilene, TX and the Lions Club in San Francisco. After retiring, he lived in Palm Springs, CA and eventually returned to Colorado, settling in the Estes Park and Drake areas. After Gladys' death in 2002, Mel moved to Fort Collins.
He is survived by his daughters Donna Covington of Loveland, CO and Diane Runnells of North Richmond Hills, TX. Other survivors include a sister Frances Hodges of Tulia, TX, 2 granddaughters and 9 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and several step brothers and step sisters.
