Wayne Clark Jr. Obituary
Wayne L. Clark Jr. (Bompey to his family) passed away in his sleep the morning of July 25, 2015. He achieved age 90. Born and raised in Colorado Wayne Jr. grew up to become a healthy, athletic young man. He won numerous awards in high school for track, basketball and football. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp and set some Army track records. He felt the Army didn't like him as they sent him to flight training in Phoenix during the summer and BuffaloNY in the winter. It turned out well, he met his future wife Elsa while in Buffalo. Wayne Jr was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years Elsa, by his parents, brother and beloved daughter Sandy. He is survived by is son, grandchildren Wayne IV, Damien, Sheron and Barbara as well as his great grandchildren Wyatt and Gemma and by many friends. After WW II, he got his teaching degree then coached and taught shop in Colorado for 3 years. He then moved his family to Tucson where he became a wonderful mentor to many teenagers as their coach and shop teacher. Thanks to his parents providing their cabin, Wayne Jr. gave his family the marvelous experience of summers in EstesPark and winters in Tucson. He loved it in both places, teaching in winter and working as a summer ranger in RockyMountainNational Park. He was a top notch photographer, hunter, geologist, ornithologist and fly fisherman. He was probably the best fly fisherman on the planet. Goodbye Bompey, beloved spouse, father, grandfather and friend to many, we love you and will miss you greatly. We will always carry your memory in our hearts'. There will be a memorial service for Wayne Jr. 10 am, July 6 at Estes Valley Memorial Garden
