Bud H.E. Schneider, age 73, of Largo, Fla. and formerly of Erie, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013 in Largo. He was born in West Seneca, N.Y., the son of the late Harold E. and Mildred Wuest Schneider.
He attended St. Andrew's grade school and graduated from Cathedral Prep class of 1957. Bud served in the United States Marine Corps and the USMC Reserve from 1957 to 1964.
He was the founder and owner of All-Weather Roofing Co. for 36 years prior to his retirement.
Bud enjoyed hunting in the Allegheny Mountains, fishing aboard his boat "Shingle-Hopper", and entertaining family and friends at his summer home in North Springfield, Pa. He was a member of the Erie Maennerchor Club and the Walnut Creek Gun Club and a past member of the Erie Yacht Club and the Tidioute Servicemens' Home Corp.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Darlyne M. Sparks.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Kathleen Cook Schneider; three children, Karen Rickrode (Matt), Bill Schneider (Maryann), and Bob Schneider (Kim Perfetto). He is further survived by four grandchildren, Amanda and Dylan Rickrode and Brett and Kelly Schneider; a sister, Ronette Snyder; a sister-in-law, Lynn Pachell; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit Friday, August 16, 2013, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1116 W. 7th St., from 11 a.m. until the Memorial Mass at 12 o'clock Noon. Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery will be private. Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th St., at Greengarden Boulevard, is handling arrangements.
