Emanuel "Manney" Gomez, age 77, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Presque Isle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Boston, Mass., on October 12, 1935, son of the late Judice and Beatrice Gomez. He was a resident of Erie for more than 20 years and worked at a community center in Erie for a number of years. He graduated from Boston University and served in the U. S. Navy for eight years. "Manney" was a member of St. James AME Church and enjoyed going to church and reading his Bible. He also enjoyed shopping and dining out. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister. He leaves to cherish his memory a brother, Kenneth Gomez of Boston, Mass.; a special friend, Rita Barnes, and her family of Erie; several nieces and nephews, and many relatives and friends. A quiet hour will be held on Friday, 12 noon to 1 p.m., at St. James AME Church, 236 E. 11th St. A service will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Kary Williams, Pastor, officiating and Rev. Adrianne Rush, Associate Pastor, eulogizing. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Funeralization by House of Law Inc., 9406 Frankstown Rd., Penn Hills, Pa.
