Anna E. Smith Sauers, 90, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2012 at Ball Pavilion. She was born on June 28, 1922. Anna graduated from North East High School; she was a long time member of Holy Rosary Church. She was employed at Talon, Lord Manufacturing and the Boston Stone. Anna was dedicated to her family who will miss her greatly. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and at Presque Isle where she and her husband collected beach glass during their retirement. Anna was the eldest daughter of William P. and Anna Hess Smith. She met her husband Edward C. Sauers at Lord Manufacturing and they were married on April 12, 1947. Edward died on February 9, 2002 after 55 years of marriage. Their infant son, Edward, died in May, 1948. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jean Rupczewski and brothers, Robert and Patrick Smith. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Kroh (partner, Tim Brown), Erie; two sons, David Sauers of Pittsburgh and John Sauers of Carnegie; three grandsons, Jason Kroh (wife, Michelle) of Atlanta, Ga., Jesse Kroh (wife, Peggy) of Erie, and Martin Kroh (wife, Cheryl) Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Florence Olson of Harborcreek; a brother, William P. Smith of Salinas, Calif. several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Wednesday at the Francis V.
