Anthony J. "Tony" Miller

Anthony J. "Tony" Miller, age 91, of Harborcreek Twp., passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Ball Pavilion. He was born March 24, 1922 in Erie, son of the late Anthony and Phyllis Zavis Miller. He had resided in Harborcreek Twp. since 1947. Tony was a graduate of East High School. Tony was a U.S. Army veteran who served during WWII. He was a staff sergeant and had participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. He was awarded three Purple Heart medals, a bronze star, a silver star for bravery and two good conduct medals. Tony was employed by the General Electric Co. for over 40 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club and the Retiree's Association. He was a member of St. James R.C. Church. Tony was a photographer and had also enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, operating ham radio and traveling with his late wife. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Audrey Johnson Miller and a step-brother, John Miller. Survivors include his two children, Carol A. Adam (Richard "Scooby") of Harborcreek Twp. and James A. Miller (Mona) of Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren, Mike Adam (Yuqi) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michelle Eidenmuller (Bill) of Millcreek Twp. and Max Miller of Huntsville, Ala.; one great-granddaughter, Kya Eidenmuller; one brother, Steve Miller (Helen) of Erie; and two sisters, Josephine Sigler of Erie and Rose Younes of Williamsport, Pa.; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Interment, St. Gregory Cemetery.
