Anthony "Tony" Kloszewski

Anthony "Tony" Kloszewski, age 70, of Lawrence Park, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at his residence, surrounded by his loved ones, following an extended illness. He was born in Erie on April 9, 1943, son of the late Stanley and Nora Kloszewski. Tony was employed for Hammermill/International Paper in the Plant Protection Dept. Following that, he was a currier for ACL Labs and a crossing guard for the Iroquois School District. He also served as a patrolman and Chief of Police for Wesleyville Borough, during the 1970s. He was an active member and past commander of the Erie Power Squadron, a member of Lawrence Park United Methodist Church and a sponsor for an immigrant family through Catholic Charities. Tony was an excellent wood craftsman and enjoyed repairing old boats. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. Tony is survived by his wife of 46 years, Deanne Sweet Kloszewski; twin daughters, Anita Gaydosh (Michael) and Annette Sotus (Alex), all of Erie; his twin sister, Gladys Waisley (Robert) of Erie; three brothers, Stanley Kloszewski (Sylvia) of New Port Richey, Fla., Norman Kloszewski (friend, Peggy Dufala) of Harborcreek and Charles Kloszewski (Eva) of North East; three grandchildren, Alexios and Chloe Sotus and Jayden Gaydosh and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one sister, Darlene Schoening. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Lawrence Park United Methodist Church, 4015 Niagara Place, on Monday, at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev.
