Loving And Much Loved

Arthur Vernon Bennett age 85, passed away Thursday October 31, 2013 at the St. Vincent Health Center. Formerly a longtime resident of Lawrence Park, he resided at Brevillier Village, Harborcreek Township, Pa. He was born in Shinneston, W.Va., March 28,1928, son of the late Harry and Florence Alice Wilson Bennett. He was preceded in death by his two wives Rosemary Helfeldt Bennett and Barbara J. Praetzel Bennett, a brother Allen Bennett and three sisters Lenore Dietz, Margaret Campbell and Mildred Goodrich. Art is survived by his children, Bruce Bennett and his wife Karen of Harborcreek, Brenda Lane and her husband James of Harborcreek, Jerry Glass and his wife Marie of Herndon, Va., Karen Rahn and her husband Ed of Pennsylvania, Patricia Hagerty and her husband Paul of Edinboro, Pa., Richard Praetzel, Jr. and his wife Candice of Telford, Pa., Rev. Cheri Palmer of Easton, Pa. and Linda Baker of San Diego, Calif. He is also survived by many grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Art was a U. S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired from R D and D where he worked as a lathe assembler. He also worked at Servomation for nine years, Erie Technical Products where he worked in the new products development lab and for 9 years at Meadowbrook Dairy. In his own words, " I've seen a lot and done a lot". Friends may call at the G. R. Bailey Funeral Home 4396 Iroquois Avenue, Lawrence Park Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will he celebrated Monday morning at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
