Charlotte Stetter (Aunt Lottie) Brackett

Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt & Friend Charlotte "Lottie" Stetter Brackett, age 89, of Millcreek, formerly of Dutch Road, Fairview Township passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Charlotte was born on August 4, 1923 in Karlshrue, Germany, a daughter of the late Otto Stetter and Elsie Boegle Stetter. At the age of four, Charlotte's family immigrated to Erie. Lottie attended St. John Elementary School, graduated from Academy High School in 1941 and attended Erie Business College. She was an employee of Bliley Electric Company until her marriage to the late Clifford Brackett. Lottie devoted her life to her family, friends, Catholic Faith and volunteering. She was an active volunteer at the Barber National Institute and Gifts for Kids. Her pastime was spent with her friends playing cards and Casino Days. Lottie was a Lifetime Member of the Erie Maennerchor Auxiliary, Elks Auxiliary, Siebenbuerger Auxiliary, Card Club, and her "Monday Night Diet Club". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen in 1961; her husband, Clifford Brackett in 1991; a sister-in-law, Marie Ostrowski; and her brother-in-laws, Reverend Joseph Brackett and James Pace. She is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie Brackett Arbogast and her husband, Fred; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey (Michelle), Craig (Jamie), Kristen (Jason), Corey (Tammy), Brent, Justin, Ashley (Shawn), Travis (Christina); and eleven great-grandchildren all of New Hampshire. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Setter Pace, devoted nieces and nephew, Carolyn Power, James Pace, Jackie Oehling, and Natalie Sweny, and special lifelong friend, Edna Nelson all of Millcreek. Friends will be received at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and are invited to a Liturgy of the Word at St. Julia Catholic Church, 3750 West Lake Road, Saturday, December 8, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Bruce Allison officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Barber National Institute, 100 Barber Place, Erie, PA 16507-9932.
