Donald R. Richardson

Donald R. Richardson, 58 of Albion and formerly of Girard, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on December 5, 1953 in Erie, a son of Bernice Miller Richardson LaQue of Girard and the late Dale Richardson. He graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1972 and was employed at Lord Corporation in Erie for 35 years, most recently working there as shift leader. Don was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. He had a deep sense of pride and appreciation for the U.S. Military and enjoyed reading about their history, battles and heroism. His family and friends will always remember him as being a quiet man of strong character and quick wit, always willing to help family and friends. Don will be greatly missed by his wife, Mary Jo Tatara Richardson, whom he married on March 14, 1998 in Albion; his mother, Bernice Richardson LaQue and her husband, Thomas of Girard; his daughter, Jaimie M. Richardson and Erik Hershelman of Girard; his brothers, Darrell Richardson and his wife Lois of Bozeman, Montana, David Richardson and his wife Sue of Lake City, and his twin brother Daniel Richardson of St. Petersburg Fla.; his grandson, Noah A. Richardson of Girard and several nieces and nephews. Don's family would like to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to the VNA Hospice Service of Erie for their assistance and care during Don's illness.
