Dustin A. Thomas

Dustin A. Thomas, 23, of Apache Ave., Corry, Pa., died on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident. He was born on January 24, 1990, in Corry, Pa., a son of Kimberly Casey Thomas of Corry, Pa and Michael Thomas of Corry, Pa. Dustin was raised and educated in the Corry area. He attended Columbus Elementary School and graduated from Corry Area High School in 2008. He was in the Delayed Entry into the National Guard starting his Junior year of high school. Dustin was currently a member of the 1/112 th Infantry Regiment, BRAVO Company, Cambridge Springs, Pa. He had been employed at Presque Isle Downs and Casino as a security officer for the past year. For over 13 years, Dustin has been involved with music, he was a vocalist, guitar player, and wrote music for his band Desolation of Insanity. He was also active in training and learning several forms of martial arts. Dustin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Wenner; paternal great-grandparents, John and Evelyn McCray and two uncles, David A. Bull and Michael A Bull Jr. In addition to his parents, Dustin is survived by his fiance, Chelsey Orr of Waterford, Pa.; his step-father, William Briggs of Corry, Pa.; two sons, Keith A. Thomas and Keagan Wray Randolph, two sisters, Jessica Thomas Walton and her husband, Joseph of Corry, Pa., and Mariya Thomas Renner and her husband, Nathan of Corry, Pa.; one brother, Shane Thomas and his fiance, Melissa Byerley of Avella, Pa., a step-sister, Shawnta Briggs Parks and her husband, James of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two step-brothers, Kenny Briggs of Las Vegas, Nev., and William E. Briggs and his fiance, Ashley of Las Vegas, Nev.; paternal grandparents, Linda Thomas of Corry, Pa., and Wray and Linda Thomas of Newport, N.C.; maternal grandparents, Dolores and Michael Bull of Moravia, Iowa. Also surviving are eight nieces and nephews, Jayden, Isabella, Alexis, Taylor, Dijeauna, Nicholas, Zyier and Alana and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Thursday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 650 Worth St, Corry, Pa., on Friday at 11 a.m. Rev. John Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be in the McCray Cemetery, Corry, Pa. Memorials may be made to Hunt of a Lifetime, P.O. Box 241, Harborcreek, Pa., 16421.
