Frances V. Czupkowski Rawa, 98, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Saint Mary's Home-East where she had been a resident for the last six years. She was born September 25, 1914, in Erie, daughter of the late John and Veronica Stankiewicz Czupkowski. She was employed at the Louis Marx Company during the early years of her life, however, she spent the majority of her years as a homemaker. Frances was a member of the Senior Sisters of Mercy and a life-long parishioner of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John E. Rawa, who passed away in 1996, as well as by her sisters, Gabriella Wisniewski, Joan Fornalczak and two brothers, John and Raymond Czupkowski. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Driscoll of Raleigh, N.C., a son, David J. Rawa and his wife Donna of Erie, two sisters, Dorothy Campany of Medina, Ohio and Theresa Synder of Erie, and a brother, Donald Czupkowski of Erie, grandchildren, Robert J. Hennick of Cayuga, N.Y., Kathy Ann Roy of Cary, N.C. and Brian Rawa of Erie. Also survived by two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Relative and friends may call at the Chapel of Saint Mary's Home-East on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
