Frank P. Bartosek Jr.

Frank P. Bartosek Jr., 67 of Albion passed away at his home on May 21, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born on November 20, 1945 to the late Frank Sr. and Louise C. Santarel Bartosek in Franklin Twp. Frank was raised in Platea and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1963. Following High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in the 617th Engineers Regiment. While in the Army he received an Expert Rifle Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal upon his discharge from the Military. When Frank returned home he began working at GE, White Consolidated and most recently at Copes-Vulcan, where he retired when they closed after working for 33 years as a machinist and welder. Frank enjoyed working around the house, tinkering in the garage, gardening, restoring tractors and equipment, pulling tractors at the Albion Fair, hunting, and fishing on Lake Erie. He was proud of his 8N Ford and John Deere B he restored, as well as the tractors he helped his son restore. He was a member of the Pioneer Steam and Gas Engine Society. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his sister Vicky Konetsky and his brother Skip (Louis) Bartosek. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Patricia Wheeler, whom he married on November 11, 1972. He also leaves behind his son, Greg M. Bartosek and his wife Wendy of Albion; his daughter, Michelle M. McIntyre and her husband Joe of N. Jackson, Ohio; two grandchildren, Cole and Emma McIntyre; three sisters, Gloria Forsythe and her husband Bill of Albion, Mary Beeman of Girard, and Gelsa Sydow and her husband George of East Springfield; six brothers, Vincent Bartosek and his wife Patty of Girard, Edward Bartosek and his wife Ann of West Springfield, Mark Bartosek of Erie, Richard Bartosek and his wife Mickey of Millcreek, Joe Bartosek and his wife Cora of Edinboro and Anthony Bartosek also of Edinboro; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, at the Edder Funeral Home, in Girard from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will also be at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Chaplain Harry Johns officiating.
