Henry C. Dudkiewicz

Henry C. Dudkiewicz, 64, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at UPMC Hamot. He was born September 14, 1948 in Munich, Germany, son of Luise Fischer Dudkiewicz and the late Kazimierz Dudkiewicz. He was a graduate of Tech Memorial High School. He retired after 39 years from the Erie Forge (National Forge), as a lathe operator. He served in the U.S. Army, as a Medic, in Vietnam. He was a member of the Polish Sharpshooters, Moniuszko Singing Society, Slovak Club, Wesleyville American Legion and was on the Board of Directors at Fulton Club. He loved fishing, ice fishing, the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Dudkiewicz and an infant sister, Irene Dudkiewicz. Survivors include his mother, Luise Fischer Dudkiewicz, his wife of 41 years, Darcie Dougherty Dudkiewicz; two daughters, Christina "Tina" Ruark (Jamie), Lisa Dudkiewicz;a son, James Dudkiewicz (Traci) all of Erie; six grandchildren, Casey, Kayla, Chloe, Carter, Colin and Chase; a brother, Frank Dudkiewicz (Patty) of Erie. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Eleanor Reisenweber of Erie and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, Inc., 459 East 12th St., Erie, PA 16503 on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be at the Funeral Home on Monday, at 11 a.m. Burial with full Military Honors will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
