Irene M. Chrispen, 92, of 26 Cass Street, Westfield, died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Absolute Care of Westfield.
She was born May 18, 1921, in Erie, Pa., to Frank Mussett and Elizabeth Hill, of Erie, Pa.
Irene was a member of the VFW
Post 6764, in Westfield, for over 30 years, where she served several years as Madame Conductress, a position she took very seriously and very proudly. She was a daily patron of Vine City, as well as one of their favorite patrons, and will be missed by them, per Dave.
She is survived by a sister Ila Counts of Erie; two daughters: Jean Green, of Westfield, Penny Hulse of West Virginia, two sons, Dan Chrispen and Robert Chrispen, both of Westfield. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, as well as 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband of 58 years Lester "Shorty" Chrispen, who died July 5, 2000, two brothers, Harold and Frank Mussett of Erie, one sister Melvina, and a grandson, Kevin Bal of Stedman.
No funeral services will be observed, as requested by the family. Arrangements are being held by Spitzer Funeral Home, in Sherman.
