Jeanne Massucci Doyle, age 87, of Erie, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Elmwood Gardens. She was born November 21, 1926, in Erie, the daughter of the late Michael and Georgina Anthony Massucci.
A lifelong resident of Erie, Jeanne had previously worked at St. Vincent Health Center, the Dr. Gertrude Barber Center, and she later retired from the City of Erie Treasurer's office. She loved to play bingo and was believed to be the first woman in Erie to run for City Council in 1965.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Red" Doyle, who died in 1986.
Jeanne is survived by two daughters, Deborah Skovron and her husband Gary, and Mary Jo Lydic, all of Erie. She is the grandmother of Tiffany Skovron and her husband Dan Heberle, Gary Skovron II, Stacy Skovron, Amy Skovron - St. George and her husband Michael, Michael Skovron, Edward Lydic III, and his wife Carly, Richard Lydic and his wife Lisa, and Brian Lydic and his wife Keila. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th and Liberty St., Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., in St. Paul's RC Church. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's RC Church, 1617 Walnut St., Erie, PA 16502.
