Loretta "Joy" Walker

Formerly of Templeton, Pa. Loretta "Joy" Walker, age 86, of Meadville, Pa., formerly of Templeton, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Edinboro Manor. She was born on Christmas Day, 1926 in Templeton, Pa., to Samuel and Nellie (Fravel) Borland. Joy was a lifetime resident of the Templeton area and was a member of the Templeton Church of God. She worked as a personnel supervisor for the former G.C. Murphy Co. and McCrory's, where she retired. Joy enjoyed doing needlework, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. She had many fond memories of her and her mother spending hours on 'quilt tops,' creating beautiful hand-made quilts. Joy will best be remembered as a hard worker with a strong work ethic. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 12 years, Thomas Walker, whom she married December 23, 2000; son, Gary McClellan and wife Betsy, of Meadville; daughter, Cynthia Arnemann and husband David, of Fairview, Pa.; step-son Michael Walker; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Joy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lane Grant McClellan, Jr.; and sisters, LaRue Fyock and Peggy Williams. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, Pa. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, on Monday, April 8, 2013, with the Rev. Richard Molgard officiating. Burial will follow at Cochran Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Armstrong Co. Memorial contributions may be given to Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, New York, 10018.
