Marjorie L. (Chelton) Obringer, 62, of Union City, went home to live with her heavenly father on November 15, 2013. She was born in Erie, on March 13, 1951, daughter to the late Vern and Mary (Rhodes) Chelton.
Marjorie attended Hope Sound Bible College in Florida after graduating from Spartansburg High School. She enrolled in Edinboro University when she turned fifty to continue her education and become an elementary school teacher
. Her passion was to teach children. She fulfilled this passion when she was employed by the Union City School District for the past 20 years as a teacher's aide and taught many young children with learning difficulties. These children were "her kids". She was affectionately known as "Mrs. O." to these children. She was a member of the Union City Church of the Nazarene. Hobbies included crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles and canning. She also loved spending time with her family and travelling
She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Chelton and an infant sister, Carol Chelton.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Glen Obringer of Union City; three sons, David Ray of Erie, Michael Obringer and companion, Dawn Nadal of Union City, Andrew Obringer and companion, Shannon McCarthy of Minneapolis, Minn.; two daughters, Jenny Conant (Jamie) of Union City, Mary Obringer of Union City; and seven grandchildren, Jamie Jr., Mikayla, Dawn, Bryce, Neveah, Audrianna and Christian. She is also survived by a brother, Clifford Jackson (Jana) of Union City.
Friends may call at Michael S. Pandolph Funeral Home, 75 North Main Street, Union City, Monday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Union City Church of the Nazarene, 119 South Main Street, Union City with Pastor George Tutor officiating.
