Mark Andrew Kalkhof, age 59, of North East, Pa., died Sunday, November 18, 2012, at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Erie on April 5, 1953 and was a son of the late Thomas Kalkhof, MD and Mary Elizabeth Jones Kalkhof. He was a 1972 graduate of Iroquois High School and worked at the former Hammermill Paper Company (International Paper) for 30 years, until its closing in 2002. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, loved the outdoors, camping with his son, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Constance McCarthy Kalkhof and his best friend William Ross. Survivors include his children, Mitchell Kalkhof and his wife Kelly of Greene Township, his daughter Shannon Dombrowski and her husband Eric of Wattsburg; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Isabella Kalkhof, Taylor, Cole, Alex and Jack Dombrowski; his former wife, Nancy Mottern Madura; his siblings, Thomas Kalkhof and his wife Mary Fran of Erie, Susan Vitron Massey and her husband Chuck of Kenney, N.Y., Patricia Kalkhof of Irvine, Calif., Christopher Kalkhof and his wife Amy of Williamsville, N.Y., Connie Meginnis and her husband Larry of Erie, and Craig Kalkhof and his wife Crystal of Warren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his dog Harley. Friends may call on Saturday from noon until the time of service with Rev. Leo Galina at 2 p.m. at the Brugger Funeral Home & Crematory, LLP, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
