Mary M. Puchly Coan

Mary M. Puchly Coan, formerly of Wayne St. and Pleasant St., Corry, Pa. died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Rouse Home, Youngsville, Pa. She was born on January 13, 1936, in Corry, Pa., a daughter of the late Konstantine and Ludvika Valachovic Puchly. She was raised and educated in Corry and graduated from Corry High School in 1954. As a young women, her main priority was raising and caring for her family. Mary later worked as a nurses aide at the Corry Memorial Hospital where she retired from in the mid 1990's. She had attended St. Matthias Church, French Creek N.Y., and St. Elizabeth Church, Corry, Pa., where she was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Mary was also a former member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary of Corry, Pa. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Shorty" Coan on January 9, 2003, the couple were married on May 9, 1992 in French Creek, N.Y., also by three brothers, Frank, Joseph and Constantine Puckly. Mary is survived by one daughter; Denise "Dee Dee" Sekeres, of York, Pa., four sisters; her twin, Agatha (Van Tassel) Volk, of Corry, Pa., Agnes Deeds, of Tracy, Calif., Anna Mulcahy and her husband, Daniel of Long Island, N,Y,, and Theresa Baker, of Alexandria, Va., two granddaughters; Lindsay and Mackenzie Sekeres, as well as, several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call at St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church, 26 W. Pleasant St., Corry, Pa., on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial there at 10 a.m. Rev. Daniel Mulcahy, a nephew of Mary's will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Corry, Pa. Memorials may be made to the Corry Catholic Community, 203 W.
